Passive Smoking Increases Risk of Breast Cancer
A study published

Journal of cancer
suggests that
l o n g - t e r m
e x p o s u r e t o
passive smoking
may increase the
r i s k o f
Premenopausal
breast cancer.
Most previous
studies have also
r e p o r t e d
increased risk. For
all studies combined, long term second-hand smoke exposure was
associated with a 27% increase in breast cancer risk among woman
who were lifetime non-smokers. Over all premenopausal breast
cancer risk was elevated 68% with passive smoking among life-long
non-smokers. For women who had smoked, the breast cancer risk
estimate was increased by 46% when compared to women with
neither active nor regular passive smoke exposure.
